Article with ordering at a restaurant
Hi,
Can you please confirm:
Waiter: "The steak comes with French fries".
Customer: "Can I have a salad instead of (the) French fries?"
Waiter: "This comes with soup."
Customer: "Can I have a salad instead of (the) soup?"
I was told I can omit or use the definite article in both soup and French fries. Either way is correct. Yes?
