Can you please tell me if I need to use articles in this sentence . We need to consider that the multiple worlds of art practices have two sides: a cultural and a material.

or shroud it be:

We need to consider that the multiple worlds of art practices have two sides: cultural and material.

I wouldn't call either wrong, although I prefer #2,
