I would use 'the' with 'space theatre'. If all the teachrers were involved, 'the' would be appropriate there as well.

When i read the paragraph again and Mr Philip's answer to my question, i feel 'the' is unnecessary. He said if all the teachers in John's school, so 'the' is made necessary. Maybe, not all the students are involved in the outing. Furthermore, the teachers in John's school is a relative clause while students are not indicated by any
