Article (ST to be sold/purchased)

Hello everyone!

How common and widespread is the word 'article' in Engslih nowadays? Can it be replaced with 'goods'?

In an accounting system whose English localization I've been helping out with, one of the windows/pages is called 'article card' (displaying a 'breakdown' of the 'article' features). I'm not sure, however if these expressions (breakdown, article etc.) are normal and correct in such contexts.

I'll be grateful for any advice! Thanks in advance!

Best,

P.

'Breakdown' is very, very common. In an accounting context, I usually hear eg items, transactions. Clive

Thank you, Clive!

So, article cards or article sets (and breakdowns thereof) don't sound weird to you, do they? That's great as I won't have to do many changes.

Thanks again!
