Students should be encouraged to use __the___ Internet as ___a__ resource.
Why "the" Internet ? not just "Internet"? Just because there is only one internet in the world, so we use "the" ?
I ate the sandwich while I was waiting for a 20:08 train.
Why "the sandwich", not "a sandwich" ? It's not a speacial sandwich, it's just a regular sandwich, Right? And I don't why it uses " a " for "20:08 train", it's not any train, it's the train which arrived at 20:08, so I thought it should use " the" .... Please help me to understand this concept.
In many places in China, the_ bicycle is still _a popular means of transportation. <-- Can someone tell me why? I usually use "the" in front of an adjective, please help me to clarify this.
