Hi,



Sentence #1 here is from a book. Sentence #2 is my version. Which one is better and why?

Also why did author omit an article before ‘increased probability”?



  1. 1. The costs of biking without a helmet include increased probability of personal injury or death.

  2. 2. The costs of biking without a helmet include an increased probability of personal injury or death.
