Article Problem

Dear Teachers,

Please tell me if the following Nouns get the definite article "the".

E.g. Listen to the radio or listen to radio.

Listen to the music or listen to music. (which ones are correct?)

As far as I know we have the following expressions

On the radio

but

By radio (am I right?)

Thanks beforehand

Hi Nata, It really depends upon the context in which you use the phrases and expressions. Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't (need the article). Examples: If you listen to the radio you're likely to improve your accent.

These are OK:

Listen to the radio

Listen to the music or listen to music. -- Both OK; the first refers to specific music

On the radio

(X?) By radio -- This I think is not right, but these are: by bus, by email , by air.
