Article in OF + Noun phrases

Ex1. Employees of Microsoft will be paid a large amount of bonus this year.

Ex2. The employees of Microsoft will be paid a large amount of bonus this year.

Q1. Are both grammatically correct and academically acceptable, meaning I do not require "the" article in front "of"?

Q2. The only difference between the two is that the second one means that there are specific/certain employees but not all of the employees? Or can they mean the exactly same thing, meaning "all employees of Microsoft?"

Thanks in advance.

Articles aside, they are both awkward sounding. People will usually say either "Microsoft employees or employees at Microsoft". Anyway, the ommision of the article tells us that we don't mean all the employees but just some of the employees at Microsoft.

So you are saying that employees at Microsoft means only "some" but not all employees, right? Whereas, the employees at Microsoft means "all"?

Thanks again.

Employees of Microsoft... could mean some employees, or it could mean all employees.
The employees of Microsoft... would mean all employees, not some employees, unless modified by context.
