article for activity

Hi,

Should there be an article before ‘renovation activity’ in the following sentence? Here I am assuming that the reader does not know about the renovation activity.

A sizable portion of retirement homes in are undergoing renovation activity.

Thanks,

MG.

Actually, musicgold, I'd just say "are undergoing renovation."
