Teachers,
I am trying to sense the difference between these two:
"John, do you remember A student who went crazy?"
"John, do you remember THE student who went crazy?"
Does "a student" suggest that John might not remember the student, while "the student" is more emphatic and suggests that John remembers the student? Is either one natural, basically?
Yes. You are right.
