Article comprehension
Hi, mates!
I was reading an article when I chanced on an excert whose meaning is not quite clear in my mind. Here it is:
"Getting to the finish line is not seamless - the last part of the saga has some lumpy passages of exposition and a couple of clunky detours - but the overall conclusion [...]
By "clunky detours", I guess the article means passages which don't represent essential facts or factors in the book, but passages that cause the book to be less "right to the point". Am I right?
As for "lumpy passages of exposition", I'm not at all sure what it means, so I hope you can clear it up for me.
