article A pronunciation

When I have the article “a”, for example a one-time thing, or a waffle, a very uimportant, etc.., when do I pronounce the article "A" (as in pArt) and when EI (as in pray)? I don’t know if the question is clear.

thanks a lot, bye.

Generally it is short. A long A would indicate emphasise.

You should pronounce the article "A" as "a". ("a" as in 'a boy')

I hope that answers your question.
