Hello Teachers.

Nowhere is this better illustrated than by recent stories fabricated by the party about local families getting attacked by settlers.

Nowhere is this better illustrated than by the recent stories fabricated by the party about local families getting attacked by settlers.

This is an article and these recent stories discussed are being mentioned for the first time.

Either one looks correct to me. The article makes it more definite, but I don't see a big reason to prefer either one at the expense of the other.

Would you agree? Thank you.

For the record, though both are correct, I prefer it without "the". I don't sense, especially if it's a first mention, that there is any intent to refer to specific stories, as if the author could actually identify each of them and recount them. CJ
