I have a question about a definite or zero article before plural nouns placed at the beginning of a sentence.
For example, which do you think is better, between the following two?

Bottles of wine are placed in the shelve.
The bottles of wine are placed in the shelve.

Can your answer above is also applied to the two sentences below?

Advantages of this program include reasonable costs and flexible time schedules.
