Please tell me why what seems to be the names of menu items which are underlined have one with an article and one without?
Prepare an appetizer of grilled seasonal vegetables followed by a creamy risotto with porcini and cremini mushrooms and white wine. Use a pasta machine to prepare fresh tortellini filled with ricotta cheese.
On a second thought, I think 'tortellini' is a type of noodles -- does it have any bearing on the choice of an artcle placement?
a type of noodles -- hmm, this doesn't look right. How would you rewrite it? Mind you 'noodles' is a plural noun. Could we able to use 'a type' before a plural noun?
Top answer
You have almost found the answer. 'Risotto' is singular and 'tortellini' plural. The indefinite article is not used before a plural noun.
