1. How can we save the water from getting polluted.


In this sentence why the article "the" used with uncountable noun "water".
Please explain it.

2.In these fires, birds and animal got roasted.

here plural form of fire has been used. Is it right. I think fire is uncountable. what is meaning of "fires".


Some time we use the verb "get" with other verb like

"got roasted", "got married" what is meaning of these.
