On sundays he makes pizza. Sometime he fries chicken or fixes Chinese food. My mother watches and helps. She cuts the vegetables. She tosses the salad.

Please explain why there is no article before pizza and chicken, as both noun are common sigular and general. Please expalain,

Why article the is used before vegetables and salad. Vegetables are common plural noun and salad is also signular commoon noun

"Pizza", "chicken", and "Chinese food" are all uncountable nouns in this sentence. We don't use indefinite articles with uncountable nouns in English. Another way to think about this is by pretending there is the word "some" b
