Art - Writing Essay

People have different views with regard to the essence of art at school. While some people hold the opinion that art plays an important role as a subject for children in their curriculum, I believe that it squanders their time on studying art.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why a common belief that art is a necessary subject, which children, especially young children should learn art to promote their imagination and creativity. To specify, the lack of imagination and creative thinking results in the burning issue that children will struggle to grow dynamic and individual thinkers when reaching adulthood. Furthermore, practicing art provides an environment where children tend to express the feelings and emotions. In other words, they can convey meaning through pictures or masterpieces by using the ideal ways to access art.

On the other hand, I believe that art forces children to squander their time on art. It is probable that a vast majority of current educational systems stress the importance of subjects like science or mathematics. For this reason, learning art at school just puts increasing pressure on youngsters, especially on those who do not have a gift for it. From social perspectives in general, we should be realistic. Salary in the jobs like officers or engineering is more stable in comparison with the pieces of art such as paintings or pieces of music. Therefore, students need to be directed to the jobs supporting themselves first.

In conclusion, although art brings about beneficial effects on children’s practical skills, I firmly hold the opinion that it requires students to spend a great deal of time on learning art.
