Art and science

Please edit it:
I'm not denying that art is great, however. History has bestowed us countless art masterpieces which add to the planet's cultural diversity and let us have many colorful experiences. "Unfortunately", so far science has just made a small step on its way of a great crusade. But, like what Neil Armstrong said as he stepped on the moon, “That’s one small step for science, one giant leap for mankind.” It is science that gives us the second sun when darkness falls; it is science that makes our mortals fly in the sky like Jesus Christ; it is science that serves us everywhere and without it we cannot imagine how we would live along. In a word, science is the greatest art in the past, present and future!

I like it! Thanks for editing.

PS. Could I remove the quotation marks for consistency? It seems reluctant changing "science" to "a man".

If you want to do that, I'd suggest a bit more editing, to:

As Neil Armstrong might have said as he stepped onto the moon, 'That’s one small step for science, one giant leap for mankind.'

Then it is clear that not only are you not misquoting accidentally, but are intentionally rephrasing the quotation to stress your point.
