Art and music classes should not be mandatory at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is a common belief that art and music should not be compulsory subjects at school because of wasting time. However, I firmly believe that art and music give magical advantages to students as they develop human creativity and make up chances to relieve stress.

To begin with, the existence of art and music classes at school has helped students to improve their ability of creation and imagination. Perhaps the reason is that these fields always require uniqueness and originality in every works. Therefore, students need to brainstorm a lot to create their own beauties that can attract others perfectly. For example, at school, teachers sometimes combine core subjects such as science and mathematics with art and music elements while teaching as a way to help students gain in more in-depth knowledge during the lessons.

On top of that, while studying art and music, students enable to have opportunities to relieve stress and pressure. Actually, it brings them freedom to draw or listen to and sing what they are interested in. Paintings make up colors and music create melodies. Both of them are the most effective medicines to eliminate all stress and pressure originating from studying or daily lives. For instance, studies have shown that the majority of students listen to music while learning, especially higher students who are facing up to the difficulty in absorbing extremely hard knowledge. All of them claim that soft and fresh songs make them more comfortable and relaxed, resulting in better lesson-understanding.

To sum up, art and music classes can foster students' creation and bring special chances to give up learning stress. For these reasons, to receive more academic achievements, students should be let to study art and music knowledge at school.
