Arrow vs cupid

Hi.
What's the difference between arrow and cupid?
The other day, I asked my friend to draw a cupid on the paper so we can show the direction. But he said arrow is the right word for that purpose, but I think arrow is used in archery.
Thank you for your help

" Where did you get the idea that they were the same?? "Arrow" can refer to a mark on paper indicating direction as well as an arrow in archery. My cursor is a little arrow.

I would suggest you look up "Cupid." It doesn't mean anything at all like "arrow." Where did you get the idea that they were the same??

Yes, you are right, they are totally different.
I should have looked them up before posting this question.
But I think, my impression about cupid as being similar to arrow is rooted in the fact that a cupid usually involves arrow and a bow. I had seen pictures of cupid most of the time rather than the definition.
Thank you khoff for your comment

Cupid is a character in mythology - the son of Venus, the goddess of love, and Mars, the *** or war.
Venus provided Cupid with bow and arrows - weapons of love. If Cupid shot someone, they would fall madly in love, sometimes with very tragic results.
