I was wondering what could be a good thesis statement for an argumentative essay about how racism is used to show control and superiorty.
Ps. I am going with the fact that racism *IS* used to show control

Your stated topic is not whether racism is used for this purpose, but how it is used for this purpose. So, add some overall statement about that.

In what way is this an argumentative topic? That usually means there are at least two sides to the argument. I don't see that here.

You are the one who has done the research o the topic, who ha thought about it as deeply as you can, and who has arivd at the opinion that you agree with the statement. Only you know why you have made that decision.
So, it's best that you write your own thesis statement.

It helps to start making a plan for the overall essay, because that will force you to identify and organize your reasons.
That will help you to refine your thesis statement.

Racial discrimination based on a person’s race or ethnicity is erroneous. Racism has been in practice for a very long time all around the world mainly due to devastating events in the past. Forty per cent of Australians, for instance, believe some ethnic groups do not belong in the country (WA Today, 2008). Racist actions are usually based on the differences of an individual: including customs, values, religion and different accents (Racism No way, 2010). This essay will discuss how racism is used by people to display their ignorance and hate, but also sometimes used to express their superiority and control over others.
Many racist movements have occurred in the past, but the Holocaust was definitely one of the worst. The term ‘Holocaust’ is a Greek word for ‘Sacrifice by fire’ which refers to the ****’s persecution of the Jewish people. Adolf Hitler believed that the Jews were a threat to the German community when he came to power in 1933(USHMM, 2012). Hitler put forward a policy called the Final solution which stated murdering two out of every three European Jews in Germany. Millions of Jews were deported from Germany to ‘ghettos’ and killing centres, where they were murdered in specially developed facilities. It was known that 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust, with 6 million of them being Jews. The war was ended by Allied forces moving across Europe attacking Germany and redeeming camp prisoners during the World War 2 in 1945. This movement occurred due to the Germans’ belief that the Jews did not belong in the country because of cultural differences, and murdering them was the ‘Final solution’ to eliminate this problem.
Just like the Jews, Africans in America were also victims of major racism in the early 20^th century. The Help (2011) is a movie based on an author who decides to write a book based on the lives of the African- American maids’ point of view on the white families they work for. It also goes through the trouble they endure on a daily basis (IMDb, 2011). Racism in this movie was mainly institutional as they were laws that were passed by the government called the Jim Crow caste system. Jim Crow was the systematic practice of promoting the segregation of Negro peoples (North by South, 1998). One of the vilest laws was that ~~the~~ coloured people were not allowed to use the same toilet as white people due to the chance of diseases being passed on. The most common laws forbade intermarriage and separation of clients in business and public institutions. Every white home had a coloured maid and this was one way to show control over them however it was just hate and ignorance towards them that led to racist actions.
‘KKK’ or Ku Klux Klan is another racist movement in America that is fully for racial segregation and white supremacy. The Klan remains the only group with the largest number of national and local organisations around the country out of all the racist groups in the U.S (ADL, n.d.). Primarily, KKK had aimed their anger and violence towards African Americans during the time of Jim Crow caste system. KKK then evolved from being a racist movement, to being involved in criminal activities and also acts of domestic terrorism. The enemies of KKK were mainly anyone that came into competition with the lower and working class whites (ADL, n.d.). They attacked anyone whom they felt were a threat to the white community. Supremacy and hate were the fundamental reasons for the foundation of KKK, and just like the Germans, they believed that attacking them was the best way to show their authority.
Racism has always been a part of history and it is still continuing to be a problem. Racism is something that has been passed on from generations to generations. Past events never seem to be erased and the new generation is being brought by the belief that they are the superior race. Even though some people accept change, some fear and are scared of the change. There will be always be nativists who hate immigrants that come to their country just for the reasons of pride or fear of people that are different to them. Pride could lead to feel superiority towards other people. The amount of racism has decreased over the years, but the numbers are still high all around the world. Although racism was used to show control in the olden days, it is only used nowadays to show ignorance, hate and supremacy to people of a different race.
