Is "am/are/is provided with" only with the above meaning in passive voice ?
Because I saw this before and noticed that the writer intended to express "active" in meaning. Thus, I am very curious to know any "active" meaning for "be provided with"?
I am reviewing a manuscript and came across this construction: "students were provided with examples." I would write: "students were provided examples." Both are passive. Is there a difference in meaning, and, if not, which is correct or preferable?
