00Please, can anyone tell me which of these sentences are incorrect and why? It seems to me that 01i00Are you finished/done it?02i00 and 01i00Have you done?02i00are incorrect and the others are okay, but I need to know what really is incorrect and not just what feels or sounds wrong. "Are you done it?" and "Are you finished it?" are acceptable in Canadian English, as well as some dialects of American English, such as Philadelphia.

Sadly, I can confirm that it's common in the greater Philadelphia region, to the point where my own children use it.

I do challenge them every time I hear "I'm done my homework now" or "Have you finished your home work?" "Yeah, I'm done it." But I'm swimming against the local tide.

I won't say that *I* find it acceptable, but it's very common, even among people who are quite well
