Are you the first or the second one ?

how can we ask sb whether they are the first, the second, or... child(or anything) ?
let me ask it this way
what are the questions for these answers ?
- i'm the third child.
- im the forth one (who came here )
- im the tenth (in a line)

Interestingly, I have been using this for ten years and I have taught hundreds of students the wrong meaning of that question.

Having checked the dictionary, I came to know that stand means position, rank or other people's opinion in that context.
