Are you cold vs don't you feel cold

Are you cold or aren't you cold?
I hear all the time but unable to understand the grammar of the phrase or question.
Don't you feel cold? makes sense and sounds logical but when we say , are you cold?
Is "cold" a subject complement of "you"?
