Are you already done?

I'm out eating with a friend. The friend suddenly places his knife and fork to indicate that he's done eating, even though he hasn't even finished half of the food on his plate. I'm surprised and ask -

Me: Are you already done? / Are you done already?

Friend: Yeah. I'm not so hungry.

Would this be completely natural? Where would you place "already"?

Yes, but I would probably say "I'm not very hungry." That isn't really any better, it's just what this American would probably say.

They are both correct and natural enough, but I would say "Are you done already?" 99% of the time.
