Are writers smarter than other people?

One time a woman with a masters degree asked me to read her document, and it looked like something a 6th grader produced. And don't get me started on people at work. What's up with educated people who can't write? Does it take some special kind of intelligence to string words together correctly?

Well, within certain limits. A lady named *** did a comparitive study of IQs back in the 1920s that is still used today, but my guess is that some things have changed in this country due to the "dumbing down" of America.
Anyway, according to Catharine ***, the adult IQ score ranking goes philosophers 180 IQ, scientists 175, non-fiction writers 170, religious leaders 165, fiction write

I really meant something with the analogy to perfect pitch: perfect pitch isn't something you can have "in theory", because it's only measurable as a performance. S
