I just did some searching and found that the phrase is fairly common, so I might have jumped the gun a bit earlier. My grammar automatically rejected it because I usually hear either seeing as or seeing how, but I suppose the as-how combinatio

But our point that "as" is not necessary.still stands, regardless of the fact that it may often be included.
