Are they the same?

Hi,

When you use the words 'loud' and 'loudly' like these, are they the same in that they are functioning as an adverb and have the same meaning?

Please speak loud.

But my dictionary listed the word 'loud' as both a adverb and adjective. Why is that? Does that mean No. 1 is OK?
