Are they same expression between 1 and 2 below?

1. He droped by(=around) Ralph's house to see him.
2. He went (a)round Ralph's home to visit him.

In time of making sentence, I saw two different sentences above.
so, I'd like to know wheather the differences of those expressions is or not. IF the difference is, Would you explain about ?

First.        drop by,drop around  VS go around ,go round
Second.  House vs Home.
Third. . See  VS  Visit.
