Are these two sentences worded correctly?

Geran Hulmaster was born into the ruling family of Hulburg, and his uncle, Grigor, was harmach (Lord) of the town, which was located on the northeastern shore of the Moonsea. Geran’s closest friend growing up was Jarad Erstenwold, and they, oftentimes joined by Jarad’s younger sister, Mirya, and Geran’s cousin Kara, had numerous small adventures in Hulburg and in the wildlands that surrounded the town
