Are these two sentences the same?

Hi,

Can this sentence:

I would like you to track every day, the number of women and the number of men that visit the shop. (tracks 2 metrics; women and men)

be shortened to:

I would like you to track every day, the number of women and men that visit the shop

Or does the latter only refer to the daily tracking of the total number of women and men that visit the shop?

For clarity, I'd use the first sentence. Additionally, I'd put "every day" at the end of the sentence.
