Are these two sentences properly worded, particularly the transition between the two?

At Derek’s insistence that everything be taken to the leaders of the Solamnic Knighthood, the group made their way to Sancrist via the island of Southern Ergoth. The group split again at that point, with Derek and Sturm reaching Sancrist first, followed by Tasslehoff, who arrived with the mysterious wizard Fizban, and later Laurana and Flint arrived on the island.
