Are these two sentences properly worded?

FYI- Palanthas is the city. The smell in the city changed from normal to that of acid and burning flesh when the metallic and chromatic dragons engaged in all-out combat in the skies above Palanthas. Since there were no dragon-riders involved on either side, the dragons had room to maneuver and fight against each other on their own terms.
