Are these two sentences properly worded?

FYI- Abrena is the general and Cobalt is a blue dragon. When Sara challenged Abrena to a trial by combat, Cobalt served as Sara’s mount in the battle and fought an older, larger blue dragon named Cerium, the general’s loyal mount. Cerium died in the fight and Cobalt was wounded, but he and Sara were victorious and accompanied the five young warriors who wished to join the Legion to Solace.
