Are these two sentences correctly worded?

FYI- Bareris is the bard, Tammith is the vampire, and Xingax is the atropal. Bareris’s company defeated Xingax’s minions and gained control of the fortress, and during the battle, the bard and Tammith confronted and killed the atropal, but the vampire was severely wounded in the fight. To save Tammith from dying, Bareris allowed her to drink his blood, and afterward the two became lovers. Once the griffon riders and their comrades destroyed the undead manufactory, they successfully withdrew from High Thay.
