Are these two paragraphs I've written correct and understandable? How can I improve these?
It is true that we encounter many problems in our world today. I believe that the root cause of these problems is not lack of knowledge but lack of values. Let us remember that intelligent people can really innovate. But what good does their innovation in science and technology bring if their outputs are high-powered weapons to kill fellow beings? What good does their innovation in mathematics bring if their outputs are calculators or computers which are programmed to deduct money from the public treasury?
Therefore, we need men and women of character who can innovate, not so much as men and women of intelligence.
