Are these sentences worded in the correct way?

FYI- Netherese and Shadovar are the same people. At the same time as the civilian residents of Marsember evacuated, Yder Tanthul, a Prince of Shade and one of the Netherese’s most skilled warriors, secretly led a force of Shadovar to the city in pursuit of Joelle Emmeline, a Berduskan jewel thief and a Chosen of Sune, the goddess of love and beauty, and Malik el Sami yn Nasser, a Chosen of Cyric, the god of strife. Some of Yder’s warriors were detected by Kleef Kenric, a topsword in the Marsember Watch and a follower of Helm, the god of guardians, who was believed to have died around a century earlier.
