Are these sentences worded correctly?

Catti-brie’s magical talents brought her to the attention of Lady Avelyere, a powerful Netherese sorceress who was the leader of an arcane academy known as the Coven. Avelyere and several of her students abducted Catti-brie and took her to Shade Enclave, where they convinced her to join the magical school. Since Catti-brie missed her parents, Avelyere would occasionally allow her to return to her tribe. During these visits, Catti-brie would receive magical training from her parents.
