Are these sentences right?

Hello,

Could you tell me please if these sentences are wrong? It is a beginning of a letter.

''I wish you to finish your repair or (the repair?) as soon as possible, we have had a very bitter experience.''

A friend of mine suggested that I say had instead of 'have had' but isn't 'have had'

better in this case?
