Are these sentences natural? May 16

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. I had heartburn this morning. ( I was describing my state that morning)

2. The way I see this coming down is that John will get out of the race and offer his support to Paul. ( I was speculating about a local election).

3. Are you worried about being caught / getting caught?

Are the following variations of #1 correct?

1b. I woke up with a bad heartburn this monring.
1c. I had some heartburn this morning.
1d. I had the worst heartburn this morning.

I suppose it could be countable, but it sounds a little off to me. I find these more natural:

1b. I woke up with bad heartburn this morning.
1c. I had a little heartburn this morning.
1d. I had the worst heartburn this morning!
