Are these sentences natural? March 23
Hi,
Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?
1. I know this is a difficult question to answer but I would still ask. (my preamble before I asked a difficult question)
2. I am sure you have been put this question many times before, but I am still going to ask that to you.
3. If you had a time machine, where would you go and what would you do once you are/were there.

1. Not really, I'd say, " I know this is a difficult/tough question, but I have to ask."
2. Again no. Try "I'm sure that you've been asked this many times, but I have to ask anyway."
3. Yes, you could say either, but I'd lean more to the "were there."
