Are these sentences natural to a native ear?

1. How much are they going to focus on the old news versus the new news.

2. John’s role in the active management of the company had reduced considerably after his replacement from the CEO role.

3. Your expense ratio has been running at around 45% for the last quarters.

I was more interested in finding out if 'has been running' can be used in the context of 'last quarter'.
Or should I use 'had been running'?
