Are these sentences natural? January 22

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. When I liked a car, I would call up the owner and ask him certain questions. ( I was talking about what I used to do regularly)

2. I also made sure that the car was from within 20-30 kilometers from my residence, to avoid a long drive to meet the owner.

3. What year did you buy this car in?

Thanks,

MG.
