Are these sentences natural? Jan 24

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. Let us say the three month warning was issued on 1 Jan 2011, and after one month, i.e. on 1 Feb 2011, the warning was no longer a three month warning as it would have left only two months before it expires.

2. Let say, the 3-month warning was issued on 1 Jan 2012, so after one month, on 1 Feb 2012, the warning will/would have left only two months before it expires.

Thanks,
MG.

Thanks MM.

As you may have noticed that, in #1 I was talking about a past time frame. Given that, should I change the last clause of #1 to 'before it expired'?
