Are these sentences grammatically correct?

We got only 3 controllers along with the strip lights returned to us. When it was cancelled, we were informed that they couldn't remove the controller from the column as it was already been covered / closed by wooden paneling upon cancellation of lights, so they disconnected the power supply and left the controllers inside the column.
