I'd like to know if the following sentences are correct:
- The more you exercise, the fitter you become.
- The bigger the cars, the higher the price.
My teacher told me that regarding the first sentence, I should write "The more exercise you do, the fitter you become." I don't see what's wrong with "the more you exercise" to be honest.
When it comes to the second one, she told me that I forgot to write are and is. Can't the verb "to be" be omitted?
