Are these sentences correct?

Hello all,

May I ask a question on sentence structure? Below is the sentence:

The fact it would leave gaps in the story is not the subject's problem, they are the ultimate owners of their platform.

Do I require a capital letter and a new sentence starting with the underlined element?

One more question. Do I need to start a new sentence here also?

Another consideration, if dealing with related content by others, would be that user "ranks" are tied in part to volume of activity, from experience I know that people get upset if their rank goes down.
