Are these sentences correct?

This pair is pretty much the same as the previous pair in structure, isn't it?

The explanation is the same. The first one focuses (very slightly) more on hoping he is willing to visit his parents. Because of this, there is a slight sense in the first one that the speaker might feel disapproval to find out that he never visits his parents.

The second one is not very likely as written. People will more likely say

I hope he visits ....
